I always say here's a card that isn't normally my style and I find myself that that more and more. I don't think I really have a specific style anymore I just like to create!! On the base I used the Manhattan Flower embossing folder and then sprayed it with some shimmer spray. I used the set Four Frames for the main image. I watercolored the roses and then added the friend saying to the center of the frame. Then I added different cardstock colors to tie it all in together and some Cherry Cobbler seam binding! And it needed a little more bling so I added a few rhinestones. Happy Stamping!!

If you are hoping in order you just came from Mickey's site Paper Conversation where she showed off some super cool ideas using the set Language of Friendship ... I'm not a big bird fan but boy were those cute!!

Today I will be sharing some projects I made using the One Big Sale-A-Bration My Digital Studio Cd. I had a lot of fun playing with this set and using all the different things available on this Cd!!

This card is almost all made using only my MDS but I did make into a hybrid card ... I have this thing where I just need dimension!! I created the top layer in MDS by using the set Sprinkled Expressions using the stars and smile saying, then some of the accessories from the Everyday Enchantment pack, (the brad and ribbon). I then printed it out and layered it with some basic black cardstock as well lucky limeade and daffodil delight. Of course it needed a bit of sparkle so I added iridescent ice to all the stars which made them a little darker. The finished card measures 5 x 5 1/2.

Another hybrid card!! For this card I used the set Fresh Vintage and created the image in several shapes and colors .... I love calypso coral with neutral tones!! I printed that out and layered it with basic black cardstock then attached it to a calypso coral base. I added some ruffled ribbon and stamped my saying which I punched and layered using my circle punches. Easy Peasy!! This finished card is the standard size.

This is the last hybrid card I created and I wanted to recreate the door showing off the Home Sweet Home decor element stamp. Of course a door is not complete without those packages that Mr. Brown drops off for us!! I used the set Workshop Words to make the one big box and just some soft suede to make the smaller boxes. This card measures 4 1/4 x 3.

My last project I made a 8 1/2 x 11 scrapbook page. This one was pretty easy just used several "sheets" of Everyday Enchantment DSP and added a few Everyday Enchantment accessories. Popped in a few pictures and bam it's done!!

Throwback Thursday - Stipple Butterfly

Here's an old stamp set but still one of my favorites ... stipple butterfly. First I want to say in real life these colors go together MUCH better than in this photograph. I just couldn't get the colors to be more true to color. This is a really simple card just embossed with black ep then sponged different shades to create the mutli colors. Of course it need a little bit of shimmer and shine so I added iridescent ice around the edges of the butterfly. Layered it with some cardstock and a couple of rhinestone brads and we were good to go! Happy Stamping!!

Vintage Roses

For this card I used You Are Loved that was in the Holiday mini, I really like this set and hopefully it will make into the big catty in June! I stamped the main image with markers so I could get both colors and then added some iridescent ice to make it sparkle a bit! I used the coordinating wheel Love Blossoms to create the "dsp" piece. I also ran the base through the big shot using the Frame Tulips EF to give it some dimensions and then sponged the raised edges. Lastly add a bit of ribbon and some coordinating cardstock to pull it all together!!Happy Stamping!!

Flowery Hello

Occasionally I liked to make cards that are a slightly different size than the standard and usually this is because I have a large odd shaped scrap piece sitting on my desk begging to be used and this card was one of those. The card measures 3x4. I used the set Printed Petals for this springy card (is winter over yet??). I love love these colors together, Cherry Cobbler and Marina Mist ... yummy! And as always I had to add some more texture so I used my elegant lines embossing folder on the base!! Happy Stamping!

Convention Tag 2011

This was the tag I made to hang off my convention bag for 2011. There is so many demonstrators there with the same bag so I always make a tag for myself and those I am rooming with! I personalized them all with our initials. I also added a felt felt butterfly I cut out using the Beautiful Butterflies die since I have a thing for butterflies. Then I had to add some bling to I used the glass glitter around the edges and of course a bow!! Happy Stamping!!

Button Button

I still have a bunch of projects I created last year to show off so I will be sharing them in between some of my other new projects! This was a card I made for Sandy's workshop. It's really simple but it really stands out. I used the set Button Button which has lots of fun images that coordinate with our buttons. I used several layers for this card and of course I used my petals of plenty embossing folder to add some dimension. Embossing Folders are my favorite big shot tool! On the flower image I used the rock and roll technique. Happy Stamping!!

Simple Butterflies

This is another simple card. I made this one to send to my secret sister during the last round of DDSS. Since I was mailing it I tried to stay away from things that would make ti too bulky. I used the set Precious Butterflies which is currently one of the hostess sets you can get if you host a party! I think it's pretty, probably because it uses my favorite color as well as having several butterflies! Happy Stamping!

I love this card ... mostly because it's different then what I normally do. I'm not big on using pastels and figured I would start there when picking a color combo I haven't used before so I went with Wisteria Wonder, Pink Pirouette and Old Olive. At first everything I tried to do with the sketch wasn't working out ... mostly because I DO NOT play well with sketches!! I can start with a sketch and my card at the end never resembles it; I have this thing with being different. Probably why I don't rarely CASE. Even when I get together with friends I always always have to change it up ... drives everyone else crazy. Anyways I finally after several attempts made a card that actually looked like the sketch. I added some of the pleated blushing bride ribbon from the new mini and button as they coordinated just enough, in the picture it stands out a bit more than in real life. Happy Stamping!!

My newest stamp set was Elementary Elegance from the Sale a bration catalog that goes live on January 24th, 2012. I really like the elegance of this set and isn't normally one I would get so it was perfect to get for free when I spent $50. This card is a bit smaller measuring 3 1/2 x 4 1/2. I stamped some of the smaller crowns around the cherry cobbler base and added some ribbon and rhinestones. A also punched out half circles in silver glimmer paper to run along the edge. To create the focal point I stamped the large image with versamark and then embossed with the cherry cobbler ep and cut it out. The early espresso piece I used the new label framelits to create it by tracing it to create the label shape I wanted then cutting it out by hand as I just wanted part of the curve. Then just added the hello saying which I punch out and layered to give it dimension and of course the little crown I stamped on glimmer paper. Happy Stamping!!

I made this card with the dual border technique in mind. Instead of using a punch I used the heart from the movers and shapers set. I just made a "clear platform" with chipboard that would only cut half the heart. I'll have to do a tutorial to show you what I mean. I also used my elegant lines embossing folder to give it more dimension. As well as sponged around all the edges and added iridescent ice to give it a little dazzle. Topped it off with some lace ribbon and punched hearts using the heart to heart punch. Happy Stamping!!

Creative Crew - January Scrapbook Focus

I'm not sure if I had a chance to share with you all yet that for the months of January - April I get to be on the SplitcoastStampers Stampin' Up! creative crew!! I was soo excited to be pick and on top of that I get to "design" with a whole bunch of people I admire!! Send Me Soaring S'more card

This was the last project I created for the blog hop. I wanted to do something different with the the stamp set and as I was trying to figure out what to do I noticed that the dotted kite looked like a graham cracker and suddenly I had what I wanted to do! So I stamped several "graham crackers" and then ran my aqua painter over it to give it a two toned color. I took the solid kite shape and stamped some chocolate pieces as well as some marshmallows, which I embossed with iridescent ice. Then I stacked them on top of each other with dimensionals to give the some depth. Other than that just several layers to help blend all the colors I used. Send Me Soaring Gift Card Holder

Today the new Occasion Mini Officially breaks!! I just love all the new accessories .... framelits, edgelits, new embossing folders, pleated ribbon, scented embossing powder and of course new stamps!! Gotta Love it all!!

This gift card holder was made with the petite pocket die. I just attached a tag on top with some white twine to pull it all together. Who wouldn't love to get this as a little gift! So bright and cheery?!? I did add a little iridescent ice to give it some sparkle and a little button to add a little something. Happy Stamping!!

Send Me Soaring Kite Card

I want to give a closer look to the projects I made for the blog hop. The first I wanted to go over was the monochrome blue kite card. I stamped the background elements first and then watercolored the clouds with my water color crayons to give them dimension. The I added the polka dotted kite which I stamped with pacific point then ran my aqua painter over it to change the white dots to be blue. Then attached it to the card with dimensionals. I punched out circles and then sponged them with my white craft pad to make them pop more. The DSP I ran my sanding block along the sides to show the white. Lastly I added the strip with the wish big saying with some white brads to pull the card all together. Hope you enjoyed the card as much as I did!! Happy Stamping!!

Stampin' Addicts Occcasions Mini Blog Hop - Send Me Soaring

It's Stampin Up! time for a new mini catalog so that means it's time for another awesome Stampin' Addicts blog hop featuring the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalog! I love the fun and exciting new accessories in this mini!!

The set I am showcasing today is the set Send Me Soaring! Ijust had to have this set as I have many pages to scrap with pics of my boys flying kites when they were smaller. Kite flying was one of their favorite afternoon activities. My first project is this simple but fun card.

My next project I used the petite pocket die to create this awesome gift card holder!

Lastly I was trying to come up with something different to do with this set and the kite with the circles reminded my of a graham cracker so I came up with this little beauty!

One last Christmas Project

I was getting some blog post ready for the next few days and realized I never shared this box I made with the stocking die. I made two sides to this box and then placed them on both sides of the #2 box. I decorated it all up with the stocking die accents. Making this with all big shot dies made this a super fast and easy project to give as gifts! Happy Stamping!!

It's a cute little gift card holder I made using the stocking die. To keep the gift card staying close to the cuff when I tape the two stocking together I ran a length of tape across the middle so the gift card would not slide down into the card. Happy Stamping!!

I needed a few real quick Christmas cards and I had these stockings already cut out and begging to be used.I just scored along the left edge of the back stocking and the taped them together. I added all the embellishments to give them some dimension. And then I sponged it with versamark and glitter to give a bit of sparkle! I thought they looked great and so did they gals who got them for Christmas cards!! Happy Stamping!

Decor Stencils

Sorry I wasn't around for the last few weeks. I had some personal things that came up and kept me away from blogging and a few other things good thing I had a few posts scheduled before hand. In my absence I my blog hit 100,000 page views! How exciting was is that!! Right after the holidays I will post a little blog candy so be sure to check back!

This was a simple card I made for a Non Secret Sister exchange I am doing with my SU Friends group using our Vintage Ornaments decor stencil. I sponged the ornament in real red and then used some stencil paste on the swirl. Before the paste dried I sprinkled on some of the aqua colored glitter from our glitter stacks. I used the vintage wallpaper EF on the pacific point cardstock to give it a bit more texture and then layered it all together! Happy Stamping!!

Tree Trimmings

Here's a card I made using the tree trimmings set. I seem to like to use blue colors on my Christmas cards!! This one uses Not Quite Navy and Baja Breeze. I also used the tasteful trim die as well as the Snow Burst embossing folder. It was a fairly simple layout but a beautiful card!! Happy Stamping!!

Christmas Flower

This was I believe another card I made for a swap for the Stampin' Addicts get together at convention, (I still have several to share after the holidays ... I'm a bit behind). I used my vintage wallpaper embossing folder and inked it up with early espresso ink before I ran it through the big shot to get the double colors, then I water colored some shimmer paint into the debossed parts to give a bit of shimmer to it. The stamped flower is from Raining Flowers and the cut out flower is cut from the fun flowers die. Happy Stamping!!

I have several versions of cards made with the Merry & Type stamp set I will be sharing the next few days. This card I made as a couple of Thank You's for some trades I did with a couple of fellow demos. I think I was into this color combo as the card I shared the other day was similar. I'm not sure how well the photo to the right shows this but I dry embossed the image shape (from the back) to give the ornaments a bit of dimension to them. They have this cool 3-d effect to them. I also add some shimmer paint to them to give them a little extra shine. In person it just looks sooo much cooler. Happy Stamping!!

Stitched Stockings

I made this card I think for a swap. I used the peekaboo die, stocking builder punch and Stitched Stocking to make this card; oh and also the snow burst embossing folder!! Christmas Clean and Simple

I've shown a lot of 3-d things so thought I would share a few cards. This card was a swap I made waaaay back during convention and is a CAS card ( clean and simple). This card use the set Easy Events. The little red scallop peeking out along the edge is the dotted scallop ribbon border punch. I colored the holly in with my markers then added some iridescent ice to the red berries to give a little bit of sparkle! Happy Stamping!!

This was the last project we created. The group of gals I stamp with have been wanting to learn how to make the box in the bag created by Diana Gibbs. So I came up this mini one for them to make. The were surprised in how easy and cute this is to make!! Which makes it perfect to make a bunch of them to hand out to friends or coworkers. We used the tree trimmings stamp set and boy does the glimmer paper really sparkles on this bag!! Happy Stamping!!

I didn't capture the best picture for this project but it is a rosette ornament. The black paper is actually the flocked grey and black piece from Mocha Morning DSP. It really gives them an elegant look to the ornament! We then layered it with a piece of whisper white cardstock I ran through my vintage wallpaper embossing folders. The image is from Merry & Type which I punched out with an oval punch and layered with a cardstock cut with the decorative label punch. We also added touches of glitter to the edges to really make it sparkle! Happy Stamping!

Giftable Class Project #2

This next project was rally simple to make but it's really cute. We used the small set of Merry Trees decor elements to decorate the mugs. You get 4 little trees and the word Merry that I'll be using on another project.

Once we had the mugs all done we added a few little goodies; cocoa, peppermint tea and some candy canes. These would be perfect to make for neighbors, friends or coworkers and they are pretty quick to put together! Happy Stamping!

Giftable Class Project #1

I had my annual giftables class this weekend and we had a ton of fun!! This was my favorite project we created for this event!! I got the idea for this from a Halloween version that I got from my big sis this round, I don't who she is yet but can't wait to find out out!! She did say she cased it from someone else and I think she said Wendy from Wickedly Wonderful Creations. We used paper from the brights DSP pack as well as mocha morning DSP. The trees are the same trees from this project. Happy Stamping!!

ETA: I had a few questions about the frame. It's your standard frame at 8 1/2x11 Frame. This one had a premade inner frame so the actual picture part is 5x7. The original frame sent to me used up the 8 1/2x11 space and it looked great either way! Just make your squares to use more space. The letter I used were from Timeless Type Junior Alphabet dies but if you make larger squares I would use the Serif Essentials Alphabet. I hope that helps!!

Friendly Tea

I made this card for a Friend to Friend swap I am doing with a yahoo group of friends. I have been busy making lotsa of Fall and Christmas cards it was nice to do something bright and cherry for a change! I used the set Morning Cup. The color combo on this card is Pretty in Pink and Rich Razzleberry ... one of my favorite colors combos! I used a bit of the dazzling details (iridescent glitter glue) on the tea pot and the flowers on the cup which gave it just the right amount of shimmer. I did color the image in with my markers and by sponging to give it the different shading. Happy Stamping!

Simple Pear

For this card I used the set Faith in Nature and for my color palette I used Pear Pizazz and Early Espresso. You can use any said of brown for a perfect accent to any color. I used my markers to get the two different colors on the main image. I also pulled from my stash the corduroy buttons though they are not the same shade they blended in perfectly! Happy Stamping!!

I love this card! I love the color combination but I also love all of the different elements to this card. I embossed the concord crush piece with my hounds-tooth folder inked with elegant eggplant to get the two toned effect. The pear was inked with clear embossing powder then I sponged over it old olive and early espresso. The vanilla piece I ran through my crimper before I pleated it to the card ... it gave it a really cool effect! Lots of detail but lots of fun! Hope you like it as much as I do! Happy Stamping!

Fall Where?

Well it's officially winter here I think we only had one week of fall here before it started snowing! I was hoping for a much longer fall season! Here's a card I made for a friend. It uses the gently falling set from the current mini. I got this color combo from the handy dandy color coach ... I don't think I would have normally put these colors together but they sure are pretty! I water colored the leave with my water color crayons and then added the gold shimmerry color with smooch pearlized ink ( I forget to use those) it adds a nice golden sheen! Happy Stamping!

ETA: I had a couple of questions on the color palette and they are Pear Pizzaz, More Mustard and Cajun Craze.

Top Note Holder

This was another swap I haven't shared back from convention. It's a top note box holder. I love this little holder and it's really easy to make. Just cut out a couple of top notes and a scallop circle with your big shot and band them together with a strip of card stock. I decorate it with the vintage wallpaper EF and cut out a flower with the blossom party die and a flower from the raining flowers set. They went together really quick!! I filled these up with a bag of pretzels. It's a perfect little gift for friends or neighbors! Happy Stamping!

Gently Falling

This was another swap card I made ... I've been swapping a lot more than I usually do! This one uses Gently Falling as well as the last card I shared. This one I lightened the tone up a bit by using Garden Green and Cajun Craze. It's kind of hard to see but if you look closely to the picture on the left you can see the Cajun Leave is puffed up a bit. To do this I ran my stylus along the leaf image from the back side and then used dimensional underneath to keep it pouf. I also watercolored the leaves with my water color crayons and more shimmer paint! I sure do love that stuff! Happy Stamping!

Holiday Wraps

Here is a swap card I made using the sets It's a Wrap Holidays and Gently Falling. I really like the combination of these two sets together. I like to use darker richer tones when making most of my falls cards and this one is definitely along those lines. I stamp the give thanks three times and then made some leaves to accent over two of them. I stamped the leaves and then used my water colors crayons to add more color and then of course watercolored some shimmer paint over to give them some sheen. Happy Stamping!

This was my favorite card I made for Halloween. It was for an upscale swap group I belong to. It has a bunch of layers and uses my favorite skeleton from Pick your Poison. The skeleton was embossed using the pewter ep and he really shines! And I think the embossed spider web in the back really adds to the card!

Skeleton Treat

Like I said I had to have this set for this Skeleton, he is just too cool. This was another card I made for the mini catalog swap. It's a little hard to tell but if you click on the picture you will see that the black piece is embossed using the spider web embossing folder. It really gives that extra touch to the card. I have also embossed speckles of glitter around the card to give a bit of sheen. Happy Stamping!!

The first set I HAD to have out of the mini catalog was the set Pieces of Poison mostly because of the awesome skeleton but I really liked the whole set. Here is one of the cards I made with the poison saying as the focal point.

This was a card I created for a Holiday Mini swap over at Stampin' Addicts. (Just now getting time to share it.) Ir's pretty simple, I used the spider in the background and then cut out using my bigshot the lattice and the top note. Yup that's the top note I just cut it once then turned it and re-cut it again to give it a different shape. Pretty cool huh?! I think it makes for a cool poison label. I also used a bit of the quilted ribbon too.

I really liked this version but wondered what it would look like if I turned it on it's side.

I think this one looks pretty cool too! Not sure which one I like best ... Happy Stamping!

16 Really?!?

Happy 16th Birthday Philip! I can't believe that my oldest is turning 16 today?!?! I swear it was just yesterday I was taking him home from the hospital. Now he's learning to drive and I have to look up to yell at him. When did all this happen?

I thought since it was his 16th Birthday I would make him a super cool card! This one sure is and maybe a bit over the top! Of course since he's 16 nothing's cool or at least admitting it especially to his Mom. I used the skeleton from Pieces of Poison since he likes skulls almost as much as I do. I stamped the birthday saying into several layers of the pewter ep to get the metal tag effect and I made the tags with old pewter hodgepodge hardware I have had stashed. I really like how it came together especially with using the silver glitter paper. Happy Stamping!!

ETA: My son loved his card said it was BA which in teenager speak means it was pretty cool. He was excited to have a skeleton on his card but thought the birthday was awesome!

Pumpkin Creme Pie

I haven't shared any recipe swaps in awhile and these are one of my favorite projects to do!! This is one of the few I made for a convention recipe swap I hosted at Stampin' Addicts Meet and Greet. One of the stipulations was we had to make it using My Digital Studio and let me tell you how fun it was to use this program to make the swaps!! Easy peasy! AND the quality you get back from the printer rocks!

This recipe is for Pumpkin Creme Pie and I got the recipe from Pioneer Woman. I love her recipes!! As well as the rest of her website!

Spooky Fancy Favor

As you all know I just love my big shot!! The projects are always easy to put together and they look great!Here is the fancy favor die used for a super cute and easy Halloween treat. I actually did this box at a workshop I had about a month back and the ladies all loved it! I used Wicked Cool stamp set to decorate the the box. I also used the perfect pennants die and decorative label punch to add a bit of color to the project. The spooky saying was embossed with the wild wasabi ep and a cool side effect was it embossed a bit of the web giving this really cool two tone effect! Happy Stamping!!

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts Big Shot blog hop where we are featuring some of the different big shot dies as well as a few accessories. I know I use my big shot on just about every project I make!! It's my most loved and well used "toy"!

If you are following the hop in order then you just came from Betty's site Kitty Stamp where she featured some great projects using the blossom box die. She sure has inspired me to get my die out and actually use it!!

On my stop I am showcasing the Candy Wrapper die and each of my projects show you ways to use your die in nontraditional ways. I love coming up with ways to use my dies in an alternate fashion.

Below is my first project and it is perfect for this time of the year, I know Fall is in full swing here (and a bit of winter) and is my favorite time of the year!

I made this using the Gently Falling stamp set as well as the perfect pennants die. Doesn't look like candy wrapper die does it. I used two partial candy wrapper pieces to make this darling little box similar to how I altered the Milk Carton die. To give the leaves the dimension of color I first stamp the main image and then used my water color crayons and markers to add additional color and I also watercolor some shimmer paint to them to add a bit of sparkle.

This next project is perfect for Halloween treats! Who doesn't love Halloween AND Treats?!!?

For this one I did the same technique to elongate my die as I did when I extended my matchbox die. I used the set Wicked Cool and made the little lolly which you can pull off and save after all the treats are gone and hang on a little Halloween tree.

Lastly I came up with this fun sparkly Christmas basket.

Besides the Candy Wrapper die I also used the Stocking Accents die to decorate the basket. I used two entire pieces to create the base of the basket, I flipped the bottom ends to make the basket base and flipped top ends over the sides to give my basket some fun depth. I also slide some out that wonderful glitter paper underneath the flaps to really make it sparkle!!

Throwback Thursday - Bugs & Kisses

I loved the Bugs & Kisses stamp set and it will always remain in my collection. This was a card I had created for a workshop I had when this retired back in June. It's really simple but I think it stands out and it sure makes me smile! I embossed the dragon fly with the wild wasabi ep and then colored it in with my garden green marker. I added some strips of cardstock to mimic the colors from the focal point and did a tone on tone effect on the base. I'll be sharing some older projects mixed in with some of my newer projects as things hopefully settle a bit so I can make some newer projects! Happy Stamping!

Fox and Friends Turtle

Here was a card I made during a workshop for a friend of friend of mine. Her daughter at the time was expecting her first child. So I thought it was a good opportunity to make a baby card. I used the turtle from Fox and Friends and embossed him with the wild wasabi ep then I added a bit of color with my so saffron marker. I did a bit of layering to add all the colors all in together. Caseing Myself

Very rarely do I case and when I do it never ever looks like the original. I always end up changing it completely but this time I cased myself and I kept it almost the same. You can see my original design here. I used the stamp set Flores Suaves (from the spanish catalog) instead. I needed a card to enter for Hispanic Night for convention so this was the one I submitted. As you can tell I have quite of few things still left to share from the past 4 months or so. Happy Stamping!!

Wow I've had this card to share for quite awhile, I have this card from a workshop I had back in May. Can you tell it's been busy around here? I love this card, it's just something about this color combo that I just love! Plus the vintage feel really adds to it too! I rocked and rolled the butterfly image with riding hood red and cherry cobbler to give it a bit more texture. Other than that it was a bit of shading and a lot of sponging! Happy Stamping!!

This was a quick little card I made for the secret sister swap I do over at spilcoast. I stamped the main image and then watercolored the flowers with my watercolor crayons and then had to add a bit of shimmer paint to them to make them sparkle. I love this color combo but I think that's because I partial to anything purple! Happy Stamping!

Display Stamper - Easy Events 12x12 Page

This is the last project I made as a display stamper and this one really was my favorite!! I used a picture from my youngest 10th Birthday Party and it was a great picture of him!! (Everyone says his a mini me ... attitude and all!) I just love everything about this page!! I started with the red base since that's his favorite color and then picked the blue to accent it. I cut out the large circle then matted it with the scallop border punch that I ran through the crimper so I could manipulate it around the circle. Lastly I matted that with smaller punched circles since I did not have a scallop that was anywhere near that size as well as the picture. I cut out the Happy Birthday saying with the big shot and the birthday decorative strip as well as some swirls. I used the cupcake from the easy events stamp set and colored them to match the cardstock colors and you can't really notice from te picture but I added iridescent ice to frosting to make it shine a bit. This was the only project I am recreating to have for myself as it was really hard to let it go!! Hope you like it as much as I do and Happy Stamping!!

This is my last 3-d item made using Easy Events and my favorite (everything always seems to be my favorite!). This time I used the cupcake stamp. I used all blue tones with this one which really made it pop. I did not have a scallop punch that was the size I wanted to I punched a bunch of small circles out of a crimped piece of paper and lined them around the circle. The box shape I made out of an old box of candy I saved because I liked the shape. Happy Stamping!!

Display Stamper - Easy Events Baby 3-d

This is the first 3-d item I created using Easy Events. I used one of my old button containers to create this cute little baby shower favor. I watercolored the main image once again using my watercolor crayons. Then I wanted the little rubber ducky to have some shine to it so I added some clear embossing powder to it. I covered the container with some DSP, added my image, a bow and a saying and this baby was done! These would be quick to put a bunch together! Happy Stamping!

This way actually the very first card I put together for my submissions and was my favorite of them all!! This one I made with some scraps I had sitting out on my desk .... I seem to do that a lot!! I stamped the main image then added a few more wave lines to make them longer. I watercolored the image with my watercolor crayons, then I darkened a few spots with my markers to get a more textured look. I added a bit of yellow scallops to the back to help tie in the colors, then added the brads and ribbon to pull it all in together. I really like this image from Easy Events and at first I had no idea how to use it, I had the image stamped and all colored before I even knew what I was going to do with it. I think it sat on my desk that way for a couple weeks before I finally figured it out. Here is a really cheerful birthday card! I'm not one who usually uses such bright colors and it all seemed a little bold for my normal tastes but since your are trying to showcase versatility when creating for the display boards it worked! I think doing these have really help me stretch my creativity! Of course there are a few telltale signature things in this card ... glitter on the flowers (who doesn't put glitter on everything??), my bow (everyone teases me about how "perfect" my bows are) and I always have some sort of embossing on my cards. I love this little tree image from the Easy Events set. It can be used for lots of different cards. I kept this card rather simple, but I thought it had a little bit of spunk to it. I cut of a second heart and added a bit of glitter to it then popped it up which was the perfect touch to add. I added a stripe of red on either side of the base to help tie in the red bow to bring it all together. Happy Stamping!!

This is a card I made for the display boards using Easy Events. This was by far my favorite set as it is very versatile. This was another card that was on the VIP boards so only VIP's were able to see it. It's pretty simple and a great card to say Hello to a friend. I used my stampin majig to line up the flowers and then I colored them in different shades of pink then added a bit of crystal effects over them and sprinkled a dab of glitter on the centers before it dried. Scrapbooking was my first paper crafting craft and I still love to work on my albums when I get time, though I rarely share them here. Here is a 12x12 layout I made for the display boards using the Raining Flowers set. I had some pictures of these purple flowers and thought they would be perfect for this page. Since the flowers were purple I kept to the purple theme when creating this page. My favorite part of this page is the part in the photo to the left .... it would make a beautiful stand alone card as well. I just love that style of bow, someone asked how I make these bows and it'll be easier to show you then try to explain it so as soon as things settle a bit I will do a tutorial just don't be surprised if it doesn't happen until October, it's been crazy here. Here is my second 3-d project using Raining Flowers. Just a simple charm bracelet. I stamped three different flowers onto clear shrinky dink paper. Then cut them out then punch a hole in them before shrinking them with my heat gun. I then attached them to a bracelet and added a few buttons that coordinated with the colors. It was super cute and a great conversation piece! Happy Stamping!

Here is the last card from my submission for Raining Flowers. The color combo is a little unusual but really looks stunning in person. I made the three tier bow which really added to the card. The main image is stamp with black staz on then stamped over with versamark so that I could emboss with clear powder. I then sponged the image to make it with pool party to make it pop.

My thoughts and prayer are with those effect by the events on 9/11.

This was my favorite card I made using Raining Flowers that I sent in!! Can you believe my hubby helped design it, well not really but I had everything done on this card but the flower pot. I showed it to him and said it was missing something but couldn't figure out what. He suggested stamping a flower pot, since this set didn't have one I figured I could make one out of paper. It was exactly what the card needed!! The flower is embossed and the layered to give dimension. Happy Stamping!

This was a pretty simple card but I thought it really stood out. I created the tulip by using the leave stamp from the Raining Flowers set. I slit open the double leaves and added a third to create the tulip. I then layered the image onto a scallop circle I cut using the big shot. The base is Lucky Limeade with a strip of DSP on one side. Then I just added some ribbon, pearls and a sentiment and it was done! Happy Stamping!

When I first got the new in colors I immediately loved Wisteria Wonder, mostly because purple is my favorite color. And this was actually a fun color combo! I embossed the Concord Crush piece with the elegant line embossing folder and it really helped pull the whole card together! This would also be another great card to send to a friend just because! I think we forget to do things like that ... or at least for me it seems like I make cards to send for a reason but how nice would it be to just get a card because. Happy Stamping!

I am kinda glad I got this set as I don't think I would have ever bought it. I would say flowers are not my style but that wouldn't be exactly true. I think it"s more that I live in a household full of guys so there are not many reasons or chances to use flower based sets. I had a lot of fun with set and probably created some of my best stuff using this set. This card is pretty straight forward but I really like the color combo it's so bright and cheery perfect for sharing with a friend just because! Happy Stamping!

This is the last of my Best Friends Forever display samples and it was my favorite for sure! I used a small embroidery hoop and used my Cherry Cobbler ink pad to paint it. I then used some fabric to cover it. I decorate the bottom right to coordinate. You can't tell in the photos but the hearts are all sparkly with iridescent ice and the flourish is embossed. I'm almost done with the projects from Best Friends Forever all I have left is the 2 3-d items.

I loved this little box. I used the milk carton die for it. I just cut the top part and then round the edges to give it the petal look. On the hearts I did the rock n roll technique then stamped twice to get the different shades. Then added some twine and pearls for accent and i was perfect! Happy Stamping!

My first project was inspired by the wonderful Jackie Topa. She made a cute stick horse card using the stitched stocking set and I had to make it using this die. So here it is:

Cute huh!! I love it. For my stick I used a couple of #2 pencils, perfect for this time of year!

So I was thinking what other animal can I make with this and of course I thought of a Dinosaur!

I would say this card is not my normal style and there is a little story about how I made this one all come together. First off I new I wanted to use some of the paisley petals paper well because I need to use this ~~ugly~~ paper up and that's how I came up with the color combo. (yes I regret ever buying this paper.) I also felt that the flowery vine image needed something more to go with it So I made a couple of stacked flowers using the Raining Flowers set, then I added some torn paper to put the sentiment on and then a cute little bow. So basically my story is add things to hide the things you don't like and you end up with a pretty cute card! Happy Stamping!

The other day someone asked me to describe my style and really I think it's kind of all over the place. This same person looked over a bit of my worked and mentioned I seemed to gravitate towards vintage and distressing. I never noticed that but this card fits into what she said. Isn't it funny how other people notice things about you but you don't notice them about yourself? This is another simple card that would be great to send to a friend to just say Hi or to say you are thinking about them. Happy Stamping!

Display Boards - Best Friends Forever

Here is one of the cards I created using the Best Friends Forever stamp set. Like I said I struggle with this set and I think this was one of the last projects I made. Everything else I used more of a darker palette so I thought I needed something bright. It definitely is bright and bold! I embossed each heart with different colored embossing powders. Here is the first project I am sharing for the stamp set Best Friends Forever that I made for the display boards.

I wasn't all that fond of this set and really had to work out of my comfort zone to make projects using it. As I've told you all before I lived in a household full of males so of course that's who I scrap. I kept trying to figure out how I was going to make a masculine page using this set and boy was it a process! But I think I pulled it off. This page is 8 1/2 x 11 and I picked the color scheme from the colors of the pictures. I stamped the main flourish image using the rock and roll technique then added the friend saying. I decorated the "tag" with circles, twine and some sponging. For the mat of the photos I used my vintage wallpaper embossing folder. Yup that piece is bigger than what you can run through the big shot! It was still really easy to do though I just put one corner of my paper into the folder and used my small hammer to emboss it and moved to each corner to get the entire surface covered. Just be careful you don't want to break your folder if you hit to hard.

In the pictures are my Son and his Best Friend Michael. They have been best friend since kindergarten. Today Michael could use all the prayers he can get as today we are burying his Mom who passed in a tragic manner last Wednesday.

Raining Flowers Display Boards

This is the last post from convention that I have to share and it’s of the display boards for raining flowers. At first this was a set that I thought was ok but not really my style but I have actually begun to really like it. It was the first set of projects I completed as this set was much easier to work with than I anticipated.

So any guesses here? How about a little blog candy the person who has the most correct guesses from the last 3 posts I will send a little gift. Just a little hint out of the 24 projects only 2 were not shown on these boards, they were shared only with the VIPs on a display board made just for them, but I did get to sneak a peak at that boards as well. Best Friends Forever Display Boards

Last year Stampin’ Up! put out a call for display stampers, I applied and was selected. This year I waited and waited for the announcement and never saw one and i was a little bummed but then I received an email asking if I would like to do it again this year and of course I said yes!! It’s a lot of fun and a bit stressful.

So this is me with the display board listing all the names of the display stampers for Convention 2011.

I knew some of the gals too and this is a pic of Judi and Monica! Love both of these gals and their artwork is always wonderful and very creative! I wish I could meet some of the other ladies as I stalk many of their blogs! Anyway here are the display boards for Best Friends Forever.

This was the set I had the hardest time with partly because I didn't like it as it's not my style but also I live in a house full of men/boys including all the animals (cat, 3 dogs, turtles and guinea pigs)! I can't even tell you how hard it was trying to make a feminine set masculine ... yikes! Can you guess which ones are mine? I will be posting the individuals of the next few weeks all 24 of them. I am doing a friend to friend swap with a yahoo group I am in and this was the card I sent for July. It didn't photograph as well as I would have liked, it's much nicer in person! Zoo Review - Polar Bear Card

Here's a closer look at my Polar Bear card. This one was my fav ... it just has so much sparkle. I used my Northern Flurry EF on the base of the card and then sponged a bit of Marina Mist on the raised part to pop them a bit more. Then I tore up a bit of Marina mist and Whisper White card stock to get the snowy hills. But it need something more some i ran my crystal effects along the edges and sprinkled on some mica flakes to give is that sparkly look. I stamped my polar bear on shimmery white cardstock with staz on and used Sahara Sand watercolor crayon to add dimension to him. I also cut the bag leg from the front leg and used dimensionals to pop up the front leg to show some movement. Added a few rhinestones and this card was good to go! Happy Stamping!

Zoo Review - Zebra Card

Here's a closer look at my Zebra card. I love this one the black and white with the bit of Lucky Limeade ... perfect! I stamped the Zebra with staz on then used my Basic Black marker to watercolor him in. Just rub your brush tip inside the lid and use your aquapainter to add the color to your image. I had a bit of fabric left over from making my convention box so I used my circle die to shape it. I added it to the card with some heat and bond stuff. My husband gave me a strange look when I was ironing my card ... I think he thought I was trying to get a better crease!! I used the bird punch to get the leaves. Added a few buttons and the last of my lace ribbon (gotta get some more). Happy Stamping!

Technique Tuesday - Hexagon Box

You all ready for the tutorial! You'll be surprised how easy it is! Just a few more pictures of the actual box though first.

I used the Lace Ribbon Border punch to make the black border. When I colored the penguin I watercolored it with my markers; to do this just rub the brush tip along the inside edge of the lid and pick up the color with your aquapainter. On the water on the bottom I used the Frost White shimmer paint to add some more texture. On the top of the box I added a button and then a rhinestone brad without the brad part and then I needed a bit more so I added the ribbon with the button. So now the tutorial, click on any picture to make it larger.

First you get the milk carton die and I always trim my paper to fit what I am doing ... just creates less waste. So if you look closely you can see I lined up the corner just below the part that makes the flaps and one section in from the side that does not have the mini tab. Then run it through the big shot. Do this twice.

Next to make the top. For the top I did the same thing but lined it up on the top where the flaps are. You also line this up one section in on the side that does not have the mini tab. If you want the lid to be wider you just leave more space on the bottom below the fold but not too long that it goes to the base. Run it through the big shop two times.

Both sets cut out.

To create the bottom of the box. Run sticky strip on both side tabs and crease both your folds.

Attach the flap to the inside of the second piece.

Attached the second mini flap to the other end to create your bottom of the hexagon box.

Flip it over and using sticky strip or the mono adhesive the attach two opposite side flaps to each other.

Do the same for the next set of flaps.

And then for the last set of flaps.

Now onto the lid. As you know the center that makes the top milk carton is not centered so you will need to do this yourself. I just line up the second cut out with one of side sections with the middle one and rescore to get the right center line.

Then I rescore the angled line from top center to bottom center.

Crease all the lines and add sticky strip along the side flap.

Attach the same way you did the bottom of the box to create the lid. Now the lid needs to be a tad larger so it can go over the box without being too tight. So when you attach the sides leave about 1/16 of an inch from the flap fold on each side. That will give you enough play for the lid to fit over the bottom with ease.

Fold all the folds so the go inside of the top. It does take a bit of manipulation.

Push it down.

I then add a glue dot to hold it somewhere together.

Flip it over and add a touch of crystal effects to get a good solid hold and let dry. Once it is dry put it over the bottom and decorate as you see fit!! Zoo Review - Lion Card

Just wanted to share a few things about my lion card. To get the main image with all the depth of color I used my markers for the main image. I used More Mustard, Basic Black, Sahara Sand and Dusty Durango. After that I used the same colors to water color the rest of the color to the lion.I also added a touch of the gold shimmer paint to the lion's main. I used the marker for that as well, I just ran the brush tip on the inside of the marker lid and then used my aquapainter; it seems to give a more vibrant color. I used the new Designer Frames the make the picture frame around the lion. I used chocolate chip cardstock and then colored the popped up part with my Early Espresso Marker to make it look like a weathered frame. I also used the square lattice embossing folder as well as the new striped one. Lastly a little bit of baker's twine and a couple of buttons and it's done! I think it looks like a picture frame hanging on a wall. Happy Stamping!

Stampin' Addicts New Catalog Hop - Zoo Review

Welcome to Stampin' Addicts New Catalog Blog hop! Now that you have had a little bit of time to look at our new catty and pick all your favorites we thought it would be a good idea to share with you some of ours!!

If you are following the hop in order you just came from Tinkerin In Ink with Tanya! Didn't she make the cutest things with Dinoraor! But don't worry if you are starting here the links at the bottom will get you going!

One of the first sets I had to have from this catalog was Zoo Review ... love this set!! It'll be perfect for scrapping my zoo pics as they are a bit more realistic than I have seen lately. But today I won't be showing any scrapbook pages but instead a few cards and a cute little box. I found it kinda funny that a lot of people didn't really like this set so hopefully these will change their minds!

My first card is this masculine card ... that Lion is rather intimidating dontcha think? This card has a lot of textures to it which makes pretty cool!

This was actually the first card I put together. The lucky limeade sure adds a bit of pop to this card as well as the bit of fabric!

This one is my favorite and in person boy does this sparkle and the layers are just perfect!

Last but not least is this little box ... can you guess what die it's made out of? The milk carton! How cool it that!?! I made a box similar to this for a treat swap at convention and if you come back to my blog I put together s little tutorial on how to make it! Just sign up for email subscription and you'll know when it gets posted (it's on the right hand side or on my banner)! Don't forget to become a follower too!

Now that you've added this set to your must have lists are you ready to see what Kim made over at Stitchin in Stampin on Paper. She used the Raining Flowers Stamp set we got at convention and her projects are too cute! I have a bunch of samples to show that I made for the convention display boards using that set, as well as a few others, and I'll be sharing those later next month. Su Friends Group

They are a fun group to be a part of and it was great to share convention with some wonderful friends! Too bad we don’t get to see each other more often!! This year I met up with Daphne, Elisa (my awesome roomie and her little man Jayce), Amber, Teri (so fun to met you!), Judi (my upline), Betty (my sideline- she's the one sitting with Shelli; how cool was that!), Marti (love ya), Mel and Monica (the one who started it all!) as well as their Mom, Alana. Mel (the gal in the SU Uniform) made some of the convention displays I shared earlier!! How cool is that? She also designed the bag made exclusively for the simply scored scoring tool we could by a Memento Mall.

This was the card I made for our Wow! Swap. We meet for an annual dinner and wow swap while we are all at convention. We enjoyed dinner at Olive Garden. I forgot to take pictures at dinner (yes I forgot again!) so I wasn’t able to get pictures of Dana or Lydia . Hopefully next time. I got back some super great swaps from them, they are such a fun and creative group! I hope they liked my card, I know I did! It pops soo much more in person! Happy Stamping!

Thinking of You

I thought it would be a good idea to take a break from the convention photos. Here is a card I made a few weeks back for a workshop I did! It was a lot of fun! Everyone loved those triple layer punches!! It's actually a pretty simple card as almost all of it is done with punches and one sentimental stamp in the center! Happy Stamping!

One of my favorite moments was when Spencer came on stage with his kids and did a song and dance to Willy Wonka’s Candyman song. It’s amazing how well he sings! (Sorry for some of the blurry pictures ... my camera wasn’t fond of the lighting.) Happy Stamping!!

There were so many that are just too cute for words!! But I loved the Halloween set with the Raven how cool was that? I also thought the crate of eggs were wonderful! Bloggin' Rock Star - AKA Brandi Wiggins - Cote

When I first started blogging I would always check out this blog called The Squareheadedstamper that was created by Brandi. I would check it everyday and I still do!! Brandi is a blog Rock Star in my book!! She has a style that is all her own and is very cool! She has always been on my list of someone I wanted to meet .... only problem is she lives in Canada and I'm in the bottom part of the US. Well this year be both were at convention so guess what?? Yup I finally got to meet her!!

This is a pic of us before one of the general sessions. She is just as cool in person!!

Here she is doing a presentation during the opening night kick off party!! I love this picture (not sure if she will)!! As you can see we take stamping very serious!! Ha!

Here is her very own name up in lights. How cool is that?! AND she did a fabulous job!

Here are a few of her projects!! Each of them is awesome!! One of her signature things is doodling along the cards and she told us during her presentation that no one can mess up doodles but I can tell you mine never come of as cool as hers!! When I first saw those doodles of hers I thought is was a stamp ... that's how good she is at making them!! She also gave me one her cards which I still need to take a picture of and post ... I think I'm gonna frame it, it's that cool! Anyways Thanks Brandi for being so freakin' awesome!! Happy Stamping!
